About Course

Course Description:
Welcome to RSMG University — your learning hub for understanding the game of futsal at a deeper level. In this course, “Positions in Futsal,” we explore the key roles and responsibilities that make up the foundation of every successful futsal team. You’ll gain insight into the four primary positions on the court:

  • Pivot (Pivo / Target / Striker): The attacking focal point responsible for creating and finishing scoring opportunities.

  • Ala (Winger / Flank): The creative playmaker and connector who transitions between defense and attack along the sidelines.

  • Fixo (Fixed Defender / Anchor): The defensive leader who organizes the back line and initiates play from the rear.

  • Keeper (Goalkeeper / Goalie / Guarda-Redes): The last line of defense and the first point of attack in modern futsal play.

Throughout this course, players will learn how each position functions individually and as part of the team dynamic, with examples of movement, communication, and tactical responsibilities in both offensive and defensive phases.

By the end, you’ll understand not only what each role does — but how to think, move, and play like a true futsal player.

The Positions of Futsal
This course introduces players to the four main positions in futsal — each with its own special role and purpose on the court. By understanding these positions, players will learn how to move, think, and work together like a real futsal team. The Pivo (Pivot) – The Target and main Attacker who creates and finishes scoring chances. The Ala – The Winger who brings speed and creativity, moving up and down the sides to attack and defend. The Fixo – The Anchor and Defender who protects the goal and helps start attacks from the back. The Keeper – The Goalkeeper who stops shots, commands the defense, and launches counterattacks. By the end of this course, players will understand how each position fits together and how to play their role with confidence, teamwork, and purpose.
